During a Town Hall meeting earlier this week Democrat Congressmen John Murtha (PA) and Jim Moran (VA) touted their call for a withdrawal from Iraq, an unexpected turn of events occurred.
Moran and Murtha continued the anti-war diatribes which included their relating talks they've had with military officers and rank-and-file troops in Iraq. Murtha has said the military is broken, morale within the ranks is poor, we need to pullout immediately, and other defeatist rantings.
Murtha had just finished his presentation during the Virginia townhall meeting, in which he added that he feared a slow withdrawal may give people the impression the US achieved victory (God forbid Americans think we're victorious), when he opened the meeting for a question and answer session.
At that point a man stood and spoke:
"Yes sir my name is Mark Seavey and I just want to thank you for coming up here. Until about a month ago I was Sergeant Mark Seavey infantry squad leader, I returned from Afghanistan. My question to you, (applause)
"Like yourself I dropped out of college two years ago to volunteer to go to Afghanistan, and I went and I came back. If I didn't have a herniated disk now I would volunteer to go to Iraq in a second with my troops, three of which have already volunteered to go to Iraq. I keep hearing you say how you talk to the troops and the troops are demoralized, and I really resent that characterization. (applause) The morale of the troops that I talk to is phenomenal, which is why my troops are volunteering to go back, despite the hardships they had to endure in Afghanistan.

Vets ought to show up at every town hall either of these two guys appear at.
How does a left winger like Moran get elected in N. VA. I thought the place was populated by a bunch of military, contractors, and federal gov't types.

Once a solder dons his "Civies" he becomes just a citizen again.
This young man showed he was a Loyal solder and now a Loyal citizen. The best of luck to you in your civilian life sir, you deserve it by setting the record straight against Murtha's (and the Dem's) hatred again the commander in Chief.

And the US will get Iraq settled down, as you well know. It's why you want the troops out, isn't it you moron? It's the only way the US can fail in this as you so bady desire.
Give it a rest, Murtha.

"Probably not, but this exchange had nothing to do with Murtha."
Bull, it had to do with both Congressmen who were sitting together on the dais. The last comments were directed at Moran specifically, but since Murtha was sitting next to Moran and they both are on the same page, the slam hit both congressmen.

this exchange had nothing to do with Murtha It had everything to do with Murtha. He's the one who made the disparaging comments in Congress about the troops' morale etc. Where have you been?
The only part of his comments concerning Moran were the ones about troops from his home state. That was an aside to his objections to Murtha's rant about the military being "broken".
Had Moran not even been there, he was still on target about Murtha.

Herer is the link on Murtha's undeserved purple hearts in case anyone missed it.
Murtha has his own skeletons starting to rattle around in the closet.
This seems to run in Democrats.

"this exchange had nothing to do with Murtha."
"I dont know who you two were talking to, but the moral of the troops is very high" said Sgt. Mark Seavey to Congressman Murtha and Congressman Moran.

Not only was Benedict Arnold a soldier, but, also a wounded soldier. He was a brave and smart leader. The problem was he got kicked in the guts by Congress (sound surprising?) Murtha is IN Congress committing what amounts to treason.
If Pro is the opposite of Con, what is the opposite of Progress.......Congress! Mighty Eighth...have you been to the Museum here in Savannah?

No, it had EVERYTHING to do with Murtha, who has REPEATEDLY commented on the "morale of the troops" being low, and that was specifically what this ex-soldier/ex-Marine was addressing.

The most unbelievable thing is what Murtha and Moran do after the marine finishes. saw it on fox news. Didn't see Murtha or Moron's response. What did they do?
