Nixzmary Brown ping. I sure wish this guy would have acted and taken that girl to the police.
Mother had children with at least 3 different men.

"I should have taken her to the precinct," Yes, Perry you should have.

Then Robinson said, "I rolled up her sleeve, and I saw a welt, and I said, 'Who did this to you? " and she said, 'They say they're going to kill me.'
"I said, 'Who's going to kill you?' and she started crying.
"I said, 'That's why you wish your mommy and daddy were dead?' and she said 'yeah.'
I had a very difficult time reading this article, especially towards the end where it talks about this retired man confronting the father, hiding the girl behind him. When the girl went to her mother and inside the house - he says that is the last time he saw her alive. He then asks "what could I have done?" But he has the girl telling him that she wishes her mommy and daddy were dead - and that they told her they would kill her - and he has seen her bruises, cuts, injuries - she showed them to him.
I wish he would have called the police immediately... I suppose he didn't realize she would really be killed. Such a horrible tragic story... my heart breaks that she suffered so much at the hands that those who were supposed to love her and care for her and protect her, before she went home to God.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

It is tragic and disgusting. I had a friend in Utah who said a father in the neighborhood was finally arrested for beating his kids. My friend told me "I should have known, once the kid had a big bruise and I asked why and he said 'my daddy beat me'."
I was shocked and asked my friend (who is a really great guy and father himself) "well why the hell didn't you call the cops?". He just sort of looked a little distracted and said "yeah, you're right, I feel we sort of missed a chance, we probably should have.".
I guess for good people it's especially hard to make such an accusation, we're afraid of ruining someone's reputation.
Personally, when I see a big bruise, and especially multiple bruises, I'm calling the police! If it turns out to be nothing I can always apologize later.

I wouldn't call over bruises because all kids get those for innocent reasons but with what this guy had been told by the little girl, he should have done something. I don't blame him though near as much as I blame the mother and the extended family of this little girl. Actually I blame the mother more than I do the piece of crap that killed her. She knew he was a sewer rat but stuck by him and had two kids with him all the while he is beating her other kids, starving them, and allegedly sexually abusing at least Nixzmary. That woman needs to be executed and that's no joke.

After her death, cops made a gruesome discovery in the home a bottle containing a fetus police believe is a recent Santiago miscarriage.
Looks like she might have had #3 with the beast.

You know it's a crime in all 50 States to know about, or reasonably suspect child abuse and not report it.
This 'person' who failed to protect this child doesn't deserve sympathy, he deserves to be indicted and prosecuted.
Christ Almighty, a freaking paralegal and he just let it f****** happen....

It's not just a worry about ruining someone's reputation - it's a worry about taking an innocent parent and subjecting them to the risk of facing a particularly capricious Child Protective Services worker. Clearly, you have to do what is necessary to save a child's life - but a report to CPS is not to be taken lightly, either.

Before I was blessed with children of my own, stories like this used to trouble me.
Now, with three precious angels sleeping in their beds under my roof, I am ENRAGED.
This f-in animal deserves to be shot and p-ssed on. The creature (she doesn't deserve the title of Mother) that stood by and let this happen deserves to be shot and p-ssed on.
I know the Lord says that vengeance is His, but I would gladly pull the trigger myself.

Thank you for posting the story. I wasn't aware of the original thread, and am just heartbroken for Nixzmary. I hope people read this and realize just how far it can go for these poor lost children. She was asking for help, the only way she knew how. 7 year old girls don't talk about wishing people dead, certainly not their parents, and certainly not accompanied by bruises and welts, and talk of killings and beating. :(

Most reasonable people can tell if a child has a bruise or cut by a childhood accident but when the child says, how she got the injury and she wishes her parents were dead. That's a pretty good sign the authorities need to be contacted.

Like I said, this piece of dirt needs to be prosecuted right behind the 'dad' who killed this child.
Hopefully they'll end up in the same cell.

That's the only way - that any of it can even be comprehended. She's safe in the Lord's presence. Totally whole - and safe from all harm.
I agree with another poster - before I had my daughter this story would have really made me angry - it both enrages me and makes me cry now. How anyone could be so brutal is simply incomprehensible on any level, and how a mommy could just walk away is beyond me.
