Ted Koppel, an icon of U.S. broadcast journalism, said on Friday Arabic television news channel Al Jazeera was one of many news outlets that sought to hire him when he left ABC News in November, but he never seriously considered working there.
Koppel, who recently joined cable television's Discovery Channel, said he and longtime producing partner Tom Bettag had lunch with an Al Jazeera executive, but it "didn't take long for us to decide that that's not what we were going to do."

Plus where would he go to cash his paycheck? I mean, you don't just walk into Bank of America and say, "Yes, I'd like to convert these camels into U.S. Dollars please."

Ted Koppel is ultra paleoconservative, I think, not a neocon, thank God.
So Teddy the Toad only met with them but never SERIOUSLY considered the offer. I guess that means some, or considerable, or semi-serious considerations were in fact rendered to the enemy propaganda machinery.
Which likely means they were a couple big bills short of consummating a real deal.

I doubt if he would want to walk into BoA, or any other bank, and convert his Saudi gold dinars into rapidly depreciating US $paper or any other fiat currencies for that matter.
Koppel should ask himself,'if they want me to work for them, what does that say about my politics'? Naw, he'd never ask himself that.

It's my perception that he ain't a neocon (thank God!) and leaning toward true conservatism - paleoconservatism. But my perecption could be wrong. LOL!

That's about 36 seconds longer than necessary Ted.
