A recent poll shows the born-again "moderate" Republican governor has gained back some popularity, especially in the Bay Area, and is now in a dead heat with Democratic competitors.
"Our survey demonstrates that Schwarzenegger's retreat from the more conservative rhetoric and agenda he brandished during the latter part of 2005 has paid off among middle-of-the road voters," said Melinda Jackson, director of the Survey and Policy Research Institute at San Jose State University.
The governor's job performance rating among voters in a Democrat-leaning state has climbed from 36 percent positive and 53 percent negative in September, to 40 percent positive and 51 percent negative this month.

I know what you mean by using the word "comforting". I couldn't believe what I was reading and was subjected to, when I was first put through their organized, jointed "drill."
Your whole liberal trolling history speaks for itself, FO. You waste JimRob's bandwith with your lies, innuendoes, and pablum.
"Go tell Jim Robinson. Write a vanity post thread. Send email invites to all your pals. Knock yourself out, kid."
And you're calling other people's replies "ugly and creepy?"
Now I'm beginning to understand you're modus operandi! You hang around the perimeter till you find people you can taunt and torment who choose not to run to the hall monitor with every little hurt feeling!
That's how you've gotten by all these years without being zotted!!!
Good post. Yes, that's how it has added up to me.
There you go on your "mother-obsession" thing again, SW.
Oh, Man! You just can't take off your eyeshades, can ya?
You really need to get out more!
Imagine the effect if the Lt Gov race were the focus here. If everyone who truly wants Tom's message to resonate, did everything in their power to see him get elected.
All this energy could be used to back Tom.
Not Tom v Arnold but Tom v dems.
What I meant was to "point" the focus of his voting base towards Arnold. As in "go there". That's what I thought he was doing.
So Zot Me, Big Man. Get your group together, and post a thread. "Zot Alia", er something.
The only herd I see is one that wants everyone to "just shut up" and not question the destructive direction this state is going in; to just follow the party line; to not question Arnold's "fiscal conservatism"; the herd that wants to avoid all intelligent debate and resorts to attacking conservatives. That herd has exposed itself quite well on this thread.
Sure would be more pleasant if you'd actually knock it off then!
Nothing "new" about Ah-nold, dear one. Just another liberal wanting to advance his cause in the wrong party.
Glad you had that handy. You might have to just write a macro to zap it into place whenever the taunt comes up again.
Wow - that is significant. If 19% of your base is refusing to vote for you, then that difference is multiplied, because you depend on your base to turn out the vote.
"Sandbagged"? You've just suggested Tom McClintock is not very smart.
The results show a different picture. Even if McClintock had withdrawn and his supporters had refused to vote for Schwarzenegger, Schwarzenegger would still have beaten Bustamante by a huge margin (60/40).
By George I think... SHE's MELTINGgggggggggggggggg!!!
His post #331 showed election result figures (with links) proving his point. I much prefer those to opinions and "feelings" and purported omniscience.
The biggest problem facing McClintock are the RINObot trolls who are going to try to recruit and support a liberal to defeat McClintock in the primary for Lieutenant-Governor. They don't want a Conservative like McClintock in office, period. And if he does indeed prevail in the primary, they will work hard at sandbagging him like they did in 1994, and help elect the liberal Democrat in the general.
