There would have been redundant surveillance/SIGINT/HUMINT overlays to effect a decision to strike.
I wonder who gave the order....this strike had to go to the top to get approval.
I don't know if this is the situation we had here...but..
I remember one of the neatest things I saw from when we were initially in Afghanistan...was when they showed our military....pinpointing a place to strike...
And then showing the planes hitting the site that the forces on the ground pointed out to them.'
Perhaps that happened here...
