"Pakistani officials" and a location within Pakistan, together suggest Pakistani troops which are of highly varying quality. They are waiting until dawn to go get them, so who knows what they'd do. If night-time is a real concern, then that suggests that they can't secure the area during the night.

Good point Coop. If there were 10 Predator drones sent in (as another poster has alleged), firing 10 hellfire missles, I suspect there might just be a little bit of DNA evidence left that wasn't carried away with any bodies carried off. I'm not sure how many people were at this site, but if 10 hell fire missles were fired, one must objectively ask, "How much is there to be carried off, and how many are left to carry off?" Hmmmmmm?
Considering the extent to which these cowards were going to, to hide, there is even the possibility that the ran off in the night not even looking back.
