I wonder if she is really thinking of the popular junior senator from NY?

"Rice has said she has no desire to be president when President Bush's second term expires, but Mrs. Bush said: "I'd love to see her run. She's terrific." "
Oh good grief. And she would love to see Harriet Miers on SCOTUS. Give me a freakin' break.

Doubtful.
Laura's more liberal than W, but I seriously don't think she'd want Hillary any more than you or I do.

If Rice can substantially sort of the Israel mess, I say she may have what it takes.
However, I need to hear her on domestic policy before I can say she would make a good Pres. or VP.

I could see "Hail to the Chief" being played during the entrance of Condi Rice!

Rice is part of the delegation, as is one of the president's daughters, Barbara, who worked recently at a pediatric AIDS hospital in South Africa. "She's interested in the policy surrounding AIDS and what we can do in our country and in other countries around the world to really stop AIDS," Mrs. Bush said.Ummm... it is relatively simple - requires a change in behavior, not a change in policy.

Laura made a public fool of herself during the Miers debate. Normally, I admire her, but she really damaged herself when she was put forward on TV to call anyone who opposed Miers bigots and sexists.
Having done that once, she should avoid this kind of foolish remark, especially with hillary in the race.

Every statement by the First Lady is choreographed to create some effect. Since my position has long been that Condi Rice will only run for President if there is an international emergency, I suspect this statement is intended to play off the Dick Morris meme. The mere image of Condi Rice for President tamps down the appetite for President Hillary. But it's a bait-and-switch. The real GOP candidate will be Allen, Guiliani, or Romney.

GO LAURA! You're so far above the rank and file that sometimes they just can't take it.

I wonder if she is really thinking of the popular junior senator from NY? NO. ..for sure!
Of course, we know there is 'the future' and THE future. . .Laura, is looking into the latter future; and can't we all see a female as President in that one?
