Doctors are so afraid to get involved in these things. Malpractice lawsuits have worked to the detriment of children and women who are abused.

The school reported her injuries. She was brought to a doctor who patched her up and took at face value that she 'fell'.

I blame the doctor for this disaster. He had the authority to insist she be taken from the home. He did nothing.

Her weight alone was a tip off that this child was malnourished.
