Harry's latest 'boo-boo'

Just when you think the folks who comprise America's entertainment world can't sink to a new low in America-bashing, one of them goes and opens their mouth.
The latest individual who seems to think the grass is greener on the totalitarian side of the world is crooner Harry Belafonte.
Belafonte was leading a delegation of Americans to Venezuela to praise the nation's leader, leftist strongman, Hugo Chavez.
Chavez has implemented a socialist takeover of Venezuela, and he sees himself in the style of one of his political idols, brutal thug, Fidel Castro – who enjoys his own fan club amongst Hollywood liberals.
Chavez has also raised eyebrows around the world for visits to Iraq where he extolled the virtues of Saddam Hussein, this generation's most heinous despot.
Harry Belafonte, when looking at the fork in the road before him, one side representing the fight for freedom and democracy, and the other representing support for terrorism, mass genocide and government tyranny, chose the latter as representing his more cherished ideals.
"No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we're here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people ... support your revolution," Belafonte told Chavez.
Can the impact of watching the major TV networks and reading the New York Times be so harmful that they make bumbling idiots like Belafonte admire totalitarian and oppressive regimes over free societies?
Apparently so, for other guilt-stricken liberals in the American delegation joined Belafonte, including actor Danny Glover who must have had a hard time clearing his schedule from attending a myriad of other Blame America First events.
When Marxist congresswoman, Barbara Lee (she who sided with the communist takeover of Grenada) announced her opposition to post-9/11 military action against al-Qaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan, Danny Glover was one of her loudest supporters.
According to Glover, al-Qaida and the terrorists are not the threats to world peace, but instead it's the United States and our commander in chief.
"One of the main purveyors of violence in this world has been this country," Glover told an American audience. "We must stand vigilant against Bush in these times."
With all due respect, Danny, I think this country would be better served if the people of this nation stood vigilant against you and your ilk.
It's hard to decide which is more shameful – the conduct of those who ruthlessly trash America and prop up dictators and terrorists, or those who reward such behavior with plaudits and accolades?
Despite years of far-left radicalism, the American Association for Retired Persons named Belafonte their "Man of the Year." This award came after Belafonte blamed the United States' for Osama Bin Laden and described Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell as, "slaves with the privilege of living in the house of the master, exactly the way the master intended to have you serve him."
When Jane Fonda announced that she was going to restart her "Support America's Enemies in War" road show, she was rewarded with a leading role in a blockbuster movie, opposite Jennifer Lopez.
Danny Glover has been heralded with an NAACP Image Award despite the fact that the image the world sees is of his constant crusading against the United States whenever it confronts totalitarian, murderous, regimes.
Barbra Streisand says the United States was the bad guy for eradicating the terrorist threat of Saddam Hussein – a man who paid the families of terrorists $25,000 every time they killed a Jew. She says we should have left Saddam Hussein alone and instead called for impeaching Bush.
Instead of treating Ms. Streisand like a political leper and dishonoring her for siding with America's enemies over America's own troops, the entertainment world has bestowed upon her nominations for Academy Awards, Tony Awards, Grammy Awards, etc.
There's something seriously wrong in our culture when we've gotten to the point where America's leading entertainment figures are leading a propaganda war to redefine the meaning of "right" and "wrong" – "good" and "evil."
One would have hoped that after watching the foot soldiers – including ample numbers of celebrities – root against their own country in the Cold War that America would have wised up.
Instead, we have a society where it is politically incorrect to be patriotic, where opposing America's enemies is impolite, and where seditious behavior is grounds for heroic acclaim.
You'd almost think this was the script from some Hollywood science-fiction movie. Instead, it's the reality we live in.
