I predict the theme song from Brokeback Mountain will win best song:
"I'll get you in the end"

LOL! Up until now, Shapiro has been one of those foo-foo academy award watchers? Bwahahahaha!

I won't be watching. Neither will most Americans. Well, ... ah ... ummmm ... most Americans are ... I guess ... out of the mainstream. That's the ticket!
To: SirLinksalot
I haven't watched in years. Not for any political reasons mind you, I just can't really get into it.
My wife OTOH, watches it all the time.
It must be a woman thing.

The nominees and winners have been ....
American Beauty -- Gays are the tolerant lot, suburban fathers are the hypocrites.
Boys Don't Cry -- Hicks are intolerant against cross-dressers and kill them.
Phildelphia -- We have to understand Gays who get AIDS
The Hours -- Gays again
Frida -- same here
Monster -- Lesbian serial killer
Brokeback Mountain -- need we say more ?
IS IT JUST ME, OR AM I BEGINNING TO SEE A PATTERN HERE ??
To: HEY4QDEMS
I only watch the Oscars if Billy Crystal is host and then only for his opening act.

Wife likes to watch the dresses before the oscars, but we never watch the actual telecast..I love the fact that last year the oscars had a black Bush-basher (Chris Rock)host and it tanked, so this year they got a white Bush-basher (Jon Stewart)to host..what geniuses..

Unbelievably, Hanks' cheesy hospital-bed routine beat out Liam Neeson in "Schindler's List" and Daniel Day Lewis in "In the Name of the Father." "Philadelphia" is, clinically speaking, a maudlin, ham-handed attempt at social commentary. C'mon! Tom Hanks playing a homosexual dying from AIDS, desperately seeking justice? It was a shoe-in! Have to say that IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER has been one of my favorites though....

It should have been a line from 40 Year Old Virgin:
"Do you know how I know you guys are gay?
You care about the Oscars."

Yes, I don't even know when the broadcast goes on the air.
I haven't watched it in years, though. When I was younger, it was great fun to watch the Oscars.. Then, movie stars were, well, movie stars. They only opened their mouths when they had lines to recite.
Sure, sure, eveyone is entitled to their opinions, but I am under no obligation to hear it.
