Dead baby found behind restaurant - Police investigating, attempting to find the infant's mother

A dead baby was found Wednesday outside a Newark fast-food restaurant, police said. The infant's body was found at about 4:30 p.m. behind the Jack in the Box restaurant at 39017 Cedar Blvd., authorities said. The Alameda County coroner was called to the restaurant. *** Typically, authorities try to determine the cause of death and see whether the infant was stillborn. California's Safely Surrendered Baby Law, which went into effect in January 2001, allows people to leave unwanted newborns -- 3 days old or younger -- at hospitals or other havens without fear of prosecution. ***From January 2001 to September 2004, there were 105 abandoned babies found alive and 23 abandoned babies found dead, according to a 2005 report to the Legislature by the state Department of Social Services. ***

Oddly enough, you have a point. Were it not for the homeless, those dumpster babies might never be found.

We had a case in my old city where a college girl disappeared. It was pretty certain that she disappeared from her dorm, which was one of those newer quad-room apartment-style dorms.

They never found her, but they found evidence of a struggle in her dorm room...three or four days after it happened, since folks don't always notice a college kid not being around.

My theory always was that she ended up in the dumpster behind the dorm. The garbage trucks come every morning about 5AM. It's all automated now, and the driver never even gets out of his truck. Into the garbage truck she goes, gets compressed and taken to the landfill, where a guy driving a huge Caterpillar with a blade buries the garbage, over and over again. After three or four days, it's 16 feet under the surface.

That's where she went. If there had been a homeless guy digging through the dumpster, her parents might know what happened.

I know this is off base...but I was watching the Big Idea with the Nuge on it. Some states are trying to give birth control to deer so people will not have to hunt to control the population. The most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. The Nuge's wife is hotter than 30 hells by the way and the Big Idea sucks big time except when the Nuge is on.
