Here is the ugly ugly truth from the point of view of those who hate Israel, have lied about Israel, the UN, the EU, and the State Dept.

From the NY Times 1/10/2006

"Some people ["Palestinians"] even expressed open nostalgia for the days before the 1993 Oslo accords, when Israel still occupied the territory and Palestinians were freer to travel across the country. More than 100,000 Palestinians from Gaza worked in Israel before the agreements, and thousands were still commuting through the fortresslike border crossings when Israel withdrew in September. Few do so these days because the crossings are frequently closed."

I believe that. And it could be that those days will return; not occupation, but the possibility of a relaxed border which allows people and commerce to flow back and forth naturally.

Unfortunately, that won't be possible until the killers are gone. Israel has tried to leave the borders open all during the Intifada, and all it has brought is more death to Israelis and arabs alike. While arabs tolerate and even admire such mostrocities as Hamas and Fatah, you can't leave the gates open.

Many arabs do recognize that Israeli rule was to their benefit; but they won't live a day if they say it aloud. How many arabs are murdered in a year as Israeli sympathizers? The number is not small.

If you see things differently, especially if you live or have lived in Israel, I would like to hear your viewpoint. Its easy for me to pontificate from a distance; I'd be glad to hear the views of someone who lives it.
