Skousen was a senior officer of the FBI, police chief of Salt Lake City and a full professor at Brigham Young University. I found the Naked Capitalist interesting in that Skousen points out that Oswald was a communist fellow traveler and that great effort was put forward to not make such a big deal out of that fact. In fact, the denizens of American Culture are still at it whether it's Ollie Stone's JFK or Clooney as Murrow, they still tow the party line. In reality we defeated communism not by witch hunts and tawdry political stunts but by simply being the better system and having faith that good will triumph over evil. Kennedy and Reagan did not offer fear and paranoia in the face of communism, they offered optimism and courage - something a man like McCarthy couldnt summon.
