Is it possible for a nominee to sue these lib senators for slander??? There's certainly going to be enough evidence against them, that's for sure.

Only if the false accusation causes loss of reputation. And Alito is a public figure, making the case even harder to make. Justice Alito will have the last laugh on these little Senators.

In a court case, since all matters are under debate, slander is not a case that can be brought forward. Otherwise, it would affect the hearings process.

In court you can accuse somebody of anything. They then can deny it. It's part of the process.

I gather these hearings involve the same rule.
