Leahy is mugging for the camera, again. Like he didn't talk enough in the hearings.
Leahy is acting like Alito doesn't understand or agree with the First Amendment.....
What an terrible person....politics makes him act like a Stalinist.
His assertions don't hold water. Alito is not inclined to "court strip" or remove access to the courts - that is Congress' function. At any rate, this is just some of the rhetoric that is necessary in order to justify votes against the nominee, and can be taken in that light.
I am very sorry for Judge Alito, his wife, his children, family, friends and supporters.
The only glimmers of hope are that Alito's confirmation looks good and that the Dems are hurting their base.
