How many knew Reagan before he ran? Didn't Reagan fail to get the GOP nomination the first time up? If so, it probably helped him the second go-around. I suspect more people are becoming familiar with the Senators on the committee, so Sessions, as well as the others, should go up and down in the public opinion polls.
I imagine Democrats are probably changing lanes as we type. I'm surprised (I always have to look up the spelling, thanks to Gomer) that Mrs. Alito or the daughter hasn't gotten up and bitch-slapped some of the Democrats on the committee.
If you ever get a chance to watch the Senate live on C-span...be sure you watch Sen. Sessions...he just lights up the room...and he gets really "into" his speeches...

I would LOVE for him to run for POTUS...I would vote for him over ANY person that has been mentioned..with Pence a close second.
