ilovew is right. Alito is following the law, he is not going to be a conservative activist. So if there are others who are politically liberal but are not judicial activists who say that Alito decides carefully and fairly why fall into the same self torture that the Dems put themselves through when we come up with something that benefits us and them?

This isn't a compromise candidate -- this is someone who is not week kneed like Anthony Kennedy or David Souter. Face it, they had no background and no exposure to Washington. Alito isn't from DC, but he's been doing this now for 15 years. No surprises.

Furthermore, it's Roberts who really drives how the questions will be framed and he's even showing signs that he's creating compelling cases for Kennedy to give up the swing and come back.

Hey, just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't allout to get us. : )

Seriously, we have suffered through so many imposters appointed by Republican presidents (Stevens, O'Connor, Kennedy, Souter -- not to mention Earl Warren for goodness sake) that we have reason to be paranoid, don't ya think?
