Yes, and she did so because Leahy and Specter had a joint press conference in which they criticized her for her remarkably bad responses to their questionare, Leahy noting that this was the first time a nominee had EVER had their homework sent back for a do-over.

Up to that point, she was on track for her hearings. Once it was clear the judicial committee leadership of both parties found her answers unacceptable, Miers really had no choice but to withdraw. And Bush had to accept that withdraw, even though he had, up until that point, expressed confidence in her.

Maybe Leahy doesn't remember the members of his own party attacking her for being Bush's personal lawyer, or how this was just a "cronyism" pick.

And the WORST PART!! Not ONE Republican called Leahy on it!

And CORRECTED that idiot. That angered me the most. Repubs act like they are afraid of the dems.

It was a RARE treat to see Spector b*tch slap Teddy the other day. Awwww....it felt good! LOL
