I am glad Leahy brought this case up (Schiavo and the like). Alito is giving a very good answer, first saying that judges take, for purposes of argument, that the Constitution has a fundamental right to deny medical treatment, and goes on from there.
I doubt this discussion will get to the flaw in the legal system or process that I see in the Schiavo line, but no matter for these hearings.
