EDMONTON -- Residents of the Enoch Cree First Nation fear their reserve will become a dumping ground for corpses after a man's body was found in an isolated field Monday.

Mounties say the man, in his early to mid- 20s, is a homicide victim. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

"It's pretty isolated out here," said Nicholas Morin, who lives on the reserve at Edmonton's western edge. His home is about a kilometre from where the body was found.

"There's not a lot of traffic, not a lot of eyes around here. It's a perfect dumping ground. Let's hope it doesn't become habit."

Stony Plain RCMP Const. Craig Albers said it appears the victim was killed elsewhere and then dumped on the reserve.

He said he wasn't sure how long the body may have been there, but "we feel it was not for an extended period of time."

Mounties from Stony Plain are investigating, backed by RCMP major crimes, general investigation and Edmonton Police Service.

Residents of Enoch said they're worried.

"My first reaction was 'oh my god, do I know them?' " said Morin.

"There are enough dumps around here, but a body dump, that's weird," said John McGillis, who lives next to where the victim was found.

Mounties said they believe they've identified the victim, but can't release his name.

Talk about paranoia. One body and fear that it could be a dumping ground. Barf.

--I guess they should visit L.A., with the body count there, they would think it's a mega massacre going on ;)
