Robertson tries to save Jesusland after Sharon gibe

Pat Robertson, the American televangelist, today appeared to withdraw a diatribe against Ariel Sharon in an attempt to salvage his $50 million plan for a biblical theme park in Galilee.

Ministers in Jerusalem were furious after the millionaire preacher suggested that the Israeli Prime Minister suffered a stroke in divine retribution for carving up the Holy Land in withdrawing from Gaza.

The future of the project, nicknamed Jesusland and criticised by some for commercialism in an area of undeveloped rolling hills, is now hanging in the balance.

Mr Robertson released a statement saying that he was merely pointing out the Old Testament perspective on the division of Israel...."

Sharon used to be Mr Greater Israel in the 70's and 80's. But the intifada forced him to realize that Israel cannot rule 2 million Palestianans. He didn't get out of Gaza because of any Bush administration pressure. He got out because it was a hopeless, militarily indefensible position. He consolidated his lines and abandoned large Palestinian urban centers, which is the militarily correct thing to do.

Exactly.

And occasionally its politically better to blame the Americans for a difficult decision. Thats fine, whatever works.

Israel has had no choice but to pick a defensible line, and get all of their people on the same side of it. Where they chose that line was a matter for them to decide, but they had to pick one. They did. Getting all their people on the safe side was painful, but they had to do it. They have to get out of the business of managing 2 million arabs.

They also need to seal that line, to force the arabs to deal with one another. Without Israeli employment and Israeli markets, Gaza will have to orient itself toward Egypt, and the arab west bank will have no choice but to orient itself toward Amman.

Every attack across the line should be answered with a loss of territory, but they should not take in any more arabs; if moving the line in response to attack puts arabs on the Israeli side of the line, they should be compensated and moved to the far side of the line. Its well proven by now that Israel must not get into the business of governing arabs.

A lot of Robertson I admit, but the threads seem to be attracting interest.

In 35 years of rule Israel has completely failed to create any kind of Palestinian quisling leadership. You can't rule a people without quislings.

Yes, now the Palestianians must confront their own actions instead of blaming Israel. The law and order situation is so awful that they must have a civil war to straighten things out.

On top of being stupid, it was an incredibly cruel thing to say. Whether the theme parks goes ahead or not, he owe the Israelis an apology.

The Moslem Israelis probably agree with Robertson on the matter. Why should he apologize to them?

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

I agree!! It sounds like something out of Michael Jackson world. Not to be taken seriously!

I see.. So you think 501c organizations and ownership of "church" property (by other means) is worldly and unspiritual..

I agree.. Most ALL churches are Clubs and not Church's at all..
Even YOUR church..

After all; Jesus came to make ALL RELIGION obsolete, AND DID..
Really what would a REAL God even need with a religion..
Psuedo-Gods NEED religion.. a real one does not..
You know, to give that clergy legitimacy..

Course these facts cut against, most/some Christians today...
But then again not all Christians are even Christians..
As are millions of Americans TRAITORS.., same deal..

The word church itself in the Greek is not a building or an organization or a ministry.

The word in the gree is ek-klesia which are actually two words Ek which means out from or away from. And the word klesia which means the called. The the word church is an untranslated greek word that means the out called of the called.

Christ speaks of this often in many are called but few are chosen.

Many are the tares but few are the wheat.

Straight is the gate and narrow is the way and few there be that find life.

This should serve as a slight warning to a movement that preaches the Gospel as a come as you are party. that is with no real repentance and no real change within. If I was a poker player in sin now theorhetically I call be a poker player for Jesus. If I was a confessed adulterer and murder as Martin Luther was in his own writings I can now be a murderer and adulter for Chirst and can head up an entire denomination of Christain lap dogs that will follow me straight down to hell and herald me as the father of faith.

Does christ indeed have any commandments that mean anything to any church leaders of this day? It would seem not. Instead what we have is everyman doing what is right in his own eyes and more or less running a pick and chose gospel that we select all the things we like -- I want lots of money, I want to be popular, I want all the little bright and glittery things of the world. I want to live the "American Dream"

I do not want to deny myself of anything my eye luss after. I do not want to be poor, I do not want to take up my cross and follow in Christ's step. In Communion Christ asked peter are you willing to drink of my cup? Increasingly the Gospel that is preached today says no!

If it was God's will for us to be wealthy with the riches of the god of this world do you suppose that 1 just one apostle would have liked like a king with one hundred-fold earthly houses, one hundred fold earthly lands etc?

Jesus said My kingdom is not of this world. If you or anyone wants to deny Christ's works and his living testimony or the Apostles words and their living testimonties as having all died paupers -- but they died rich in the things of God -- so be it -- live that life.

Now here is a passage in the Gospel of Luke to ponder over the iisue of wealth and is it the will of God for the children of God to be poor? This is not the sermon on the mount. The audiance is not the unsaved multitudes but his own disciples

20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. When are we poor now -- when to we recieve the kingdom -- later.

21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. when shall we hunger now --when shall we be filled in the kigdom Blessed are ye that weep now: When shall we weep after the son of man is taken until his return for ye shall laugh.

22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. what is this? where is it preached? Kenneth Hagan's disciples tell us all of this is of the devil -- but you seeneither Kenneth Hagan, nor Pat Robertson nor any other name that you can name died for your sins and anything they tell you or me or anyone else that is different from the words and life of Christ and the apostles has to be thrown out.

23Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. rejoice in what? The Gospel when rightly preached and lived will cause one to be beaten, starved, slain, persecuted and spit on as the prophets were in the Old Testament and as Christ and the Apostles were.

Where is this preached?

But now we come into what exactly is preached in this day. 24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. This is the preaching of the prosperity Gospel, this is the preaching of being wealthy and to the wealthy to fill your pockets with tithes and offerings -- and what does christ say Woe unto you! Not blessed art thou but woe unto you. For ye have recevied your consolation -- that means enjoy it and drink up boys because this is ALL your going to get-- in this life and the next.

25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Full When is the woe for being full Now! For ye (My disciples that live slothfully shall hunger when the kingdom comes -- that is they shall not partake of it.

Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. woe unto those that life in one continuous party sucking up all the world the flesh and the devil has to offer but only in the most "Christian" and "Spiritual" way.

And now what does christ tell us next about this full and wealthy lifestyle --

26Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. Christ says flat out here that this Gospel is the life style of false Prophets -- ie Balaam Paul speaks of those who greedily wun after the error of Balaam, we can toss the pharisees in the same group and all the people that preach and live this lifestle of idyllic ease today.

27But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also. this is not preached today instead we hear all about christian activism stand up get in theri face and demand your rights -- where is that in the Gospel?

30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. where is this preached do you think Pat preactices this call him and ask him for his network and quote this verse (I realize that this is Christ's law regarding the unsaved and he has different things he calls for between his disciples but I am trying to make a point.

31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. this is the law of Christ regarding giving to friends and members of your fellowship. Christians for decades have tried to substitute this for giving to the poor and perfect strangers. And like wise when one gives to large orgainizations that they recieve membership and praise from what thank have ye? Ye have received your consolation. And when we give to missionariy machines to partake of theri sheaves, what thank have ye?

34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. where now is the context of this verse that is spouted off as an earthly wealth making tool. Consider if the Paotles were obediant and gave up theri houses and lands and were followiung christ on foot as poor vagabonds sleeping under the dew of heaven and in the rain -- what did they have to give? I'll give ou a hint -- Peter told us what they had to give at the gate beautiful in the book of Acts.

39And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

40The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. Christ concludes that none of HIS DISCIPLES can live a lifestyle above his master -- if one is indeed a disciple of Christ then they need to live as their master did -- not as what it preached in the current madness.

I happen to to be just old enough and have been saved just long enough that I remember clearly what was preached before the prosperity Gospel came busting in on the scene

There was a time not too long ago when all the riches of the world belonged to the God of this world. that listing after riches and the things of the world was the broad road that leadeth to hell

Nuff said

Looks like Pat took an "E" Ticket ride on his way out of Jesusland.
Sharon is getting better and Pat is getting poorer. So who is God ticked at now Pat?
Remember Pat, Mercy triumphs over judgement. EVERYTIME!
