It's a turkey, all right.
I can't imagine that the exec who ok'ed this one for broadcast is still on the job.

HA! HA!
After all the scandals, with the ongoing divisions in the Episcopal church, did they really think this was going to work, on prime time tv?

A moribund turkey. Leave it alone to die on its own. But when they lay a turkey, it is too fun to pounce on them. Besides losing money, this is an embarrassment to NBC.

Let's call this show what it is.... Fabrication. You mean this -- ". . .it includes a wife who relies on mid-day martinis, a 16-year-old daughter who is a drug dealer and a 16-year-old adopted son who is having sex with the bishop's daughter. At the office, the priest's lesbian secretary is sleeping with his sister-in-law." -- isn't a slice of mainstream America? NBC will be shocked. The show's creator had assured the network that his brainchild was strictly Bible Belt vignettes.

Well, apparently they are trying to draw the anti-religious, pro-gay, pro-alcohol, pro-depravity inside the church crowd. They are NOT TRYING TO DRAW the Christians, the ones who do not enjoy seeing the watering down of religion. Therefore, I will not watch it.
There could be no other reason as they knew it would offend.

.. dismal 2.7 Nielson rating How many watched like me just to see if it was really as bad as we figured? There wasn't one character on the show that I could've cared if they were run over by a bus.

It's a pity you have to watch the show to see who the advertisers are. I couldn't sit through it past the second scene.

It's a pity you have to watch the show to see who the advertisers are. I couldn't sit through it past the second scene. You could record it, skip through the scenes and just watch the commercials.

"NBC lost a lot of money on this show that got a dismal 2.7 Nielson rating..."
Excellent! If they won't pay attention to the viewers, they WILL pay attention to this.

Yes, I saw that thread! I'm not an Episcopalian, but if I were I imagine I'd be hopping mad about things. Actually, I'm pretty hopping mad about them anyway, I'm glad some folks are actually standing up and taking action, not just letting the left steamroll over them.
