'Hitler sent due to Jews' blasphemy' [Captain Hook]

Muslim cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri, most senior figure to go on trial in Britain on charges of incitement to murder, made calls for world dominated by caliph sitting in White House, prosecutor says

Muslim cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri wanted a caliph sitting in the White House and said Hitler was sent into the world because Jews were blasphemous and dirty, a London court heard on Wednesday.

Hamza, 47, is the most high-profile figure to go on trial in Britain on charges of incitement to murder and stirring up racial hatred since the September 11, 2001 attacks on Washington and New York.

Interest in the case has increased since suicide bombings on London's transport system last July killed 52 people.

Prosecutor David Perry said the Egyptian-born cleric used public meetings at the Finsbury Park mosque in north London and private meetings to incite his followers to kill non-Muslims.

"The prosecution case is, in one sentence, that Sheik Abu Hamza was preaching murder and hatred in these talks," Perry told the Old Bailey court.

"He makes calls for a world dominated by a caliph, sitting, as he puts it, in the White House," Perry said.

"In one of his lectures, he accused the Jews of being blasphemous, treacherous and dirty. This, because of their treachery and their blasphemy and their filth, was why Hitler was sent into the world," he added.

Hamza faces nine counts of using public meetings to incite his followers to kill non-Muslims and four other charges that he urged the killing of Jews.

He is also accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting behavior with intent to stir up racial hatred, along with one charge of possessing threatening, abusive or insulting sound recordings, and another count under anti-terrorism laws.

Hamza has denied all the charges.

Video tapes

The charges relate to nine video tapes seized when Hamza was arrested on May 27, 2004. Eight were at his home and one was at another address. The tapes were among 2,700 audio and 570 video tapes seized.

The first recording the jury was to hear, Perry said, was made at what the prosecution believed to be a private meeting in Whitechapel, east London, in 1997 or 1998.

"The defendant says that Muslims living in this country are living in a toilet -- they are living like animals," Perry said. "He calls on his audience to sacrifice themselves in order to establish the caliphate."

Perry said Hamza also had in his possession "The Encyclopeadia of Afghani Jihad" that ran for 10 volumes.

"It was a manual that would assist any person who was likely to be involved in the preparation or actual carrying out of terrorism activity," he added.

He said the manual explained how to make explosives and gave detailed instructions on assassination methods.

Perry told the jury they would hear how Hamza told his followers it was their "religious duty to fight in the cause of Allah, God."

The prosecutor said Hamza had frequently made clear that leaders of Arab nations who were friendly to the West and Israel were legitimate targets.

Perry said he criticized Saudi Arabia as a country "that has been stolen by an evil family," a reference to the Saudi royal family.

"The real reason he criticizes that country is because it has links with the United States and links with Europe," Perry said.

If found guilty, Hamza, who has lost both hands and an eye, faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The trial is expected to last three weeks.

I agree 100% with everything you just said.

Thank you!

Free Republic is becoming a haven for Jeffersonian enlightenment rationalists, Randian capitalists, and evolutionist devotees of sense-phenomena-as-the-full-extent-of-reality. It seems Pat Robertson-bashing is simply the latest manifestation of this.

I don't share the man's religious beliefs (being a Noachide), but these attacks on him are utterly unfair and I will not stand by in silence.

He might want to put a lid on that cleanliness thing.

Abu Hamza (Captain Hook) covered in scabs

A prison insider said today: “Hamza has been skipping showers, probably because of his disability. He stinks, so other prisoners have been complaining about him for a long time.”

No, I was serious. Like the blow dried TV preacher/fundraiser/diamond merchant, this Islamonazi also tells his brain-dead followers that he knows what's in God's mind and that God routinely punishes millions of innocent people with both natural and man-made calamities.

In other words, you're an atheist.

So why don't you go to a Communist forum somewhere? Because you believe in Ayn Rand rather than Karl Marx? I don't see any difference between the two.

The DO know what is in Allah (who ain't God) 's mind. Its in the Koran. They believe Koran is the literal word of Allah revealed directly to Mohammed. That is why it is blasphemy to desecrate it and why it is not a 'real' Koran unless it is in Arabic (Allah seems to only speak Arabic).
For the most part, Christians don't believe this about the Bible. Generally we believe it was written by men inspired by God, but the product of mortal, fallible men, nevertheless.

No, in fact I'm a Christian. I'm just not a blasphemer who pretends to speak for God simply to advance his own agenda.

BTW. Rand and Marx were both narrow minded fools, IMHO, not entirely unlike some faux conservatives here who face every disagreement of opinion with complete and utter damnation.

Don't forget to drop by all the creation/evolution threads and trash the creationists for "misrepresenting" conservatism. And make fun of rural upper Southern accents while you're at it. That'll make you one of the "beautiful people" for sure.

I take it you don't agree with any "agenda" in which Israel and the Jewish people have any special roles whatsoever.

I support Israel. I don't support hustlers like Robertson.

And while I'm not a "beautiful person", I am kind of cute.

It has metaphysical ramifications that no other land or nation on earth has. Mr. Robertson recognizes this. Do you?

No, I don't recognize this. Israel is a people, not a spot on the map. The new Israel of the New Covenant are the people of God, of all nations. Do I believe the Jewish people have a right to the "promised land" of the Old Testament? Absolutely, I do. Do I support the Israeli state? Absolutely, I do. Does the fate of salvation depend on Jerusalem or Tel Aviv? No, I don't believe so. If Tel Aviv were nuked, would it mean that God reneged on His covenant in any way? No, I don't believe it would. Jesus Christ lamented the coming destruction of Jerusalem (of that era), He didn't stop it. It didn't change God's covenant and it didn't alter the course of God's plan for Israel. So, with all due respect, I see a vast difference between a Jewish "state" and a Jewish "people". If the Jewish "state" were all-critical, then the Jews would not have survived those centuries outside of Israel. The Jewish people are still God's chosen, wherever they may be and He will not forget His promise to them. That promise is fulfilled (not abolished) in the New Covenant. The New Israel, the New Jerusalem, is a spiritual Israel, a spiritual Jerusalem. Dispensationalists and millenialists believe that Christ will literally reign from a physical throne in Jerusalem, that the Temple MUST be rebuilt as a mandatory part of a sequence of events leading to Christ's return.

This is why Pat Robertson made such an outlandish statement that God is punishing Ariel Sharon for giving away Israeli land. Robertson agrees with your belief that there is a metaphysical ramification to the geographical region known as Israel. It's no more metaphysical than any land in which God in the person of Jesus Christ is worshipped in the Eucharist. God, Himself, gave away Israeli land when He allowed the Romans to conquer and destroy Jerusalem. Did God somehow contradict Himself in doing so? Impossible!

Supporters of the Jewish people recgonize their place in salvation history, which will be in the fold of Christianity when Christ returns. You may or may not agree with that, and that's your prerogative, but don't mistake Pat Robertson's concern for Israel the state as concern for Israel the nation. I'm not calling him anti-Semite by any stretch, but his motivation is based on the belief that without Israel the state, God's plan is void. Assigning God's punishment to Ariel Sharon makes the Father nothing more than a glorified hitman and sullies the meaning of the New Covenant.

You've basically confirmed what I suspected about you.

There is no "spiritual Israel," but there's no use telling someone that who believes in "the new covenent."

And what is it, praytell, that you suspected about me?

Did the Jewish nation cease to exist during the time of the diaspora? The Holocaust took millions of lives. Were they not Jews because they weren't living in Tel Aviv? If there wasn't a physical Israel, by your point of view, Israel must have ceased to exist.

Why did God allow the destruction of Jerusalem? Heck, why did God allow Ariel Sharon to give up Gaza?

Abraham would be blessed among ALL nations, not just the promised land of the Old Testament. How does that square with granting supreme metaphysical importance to Israel proper?

BTW, the "old" covenant was a "new" covenant, too. God made all kinds of new covenants with His people (with Adam, with Noah, with Abraham, with Moses, with David...)
