Hey, in Afghanistan after the Taliban was ousted, a lot of women continued to wear the burqua or a heavy veil by choice. They don't feel modest without them. Same reason my lady wife won't wear miniskirts, tube tops or two-piece bathing suits. Not out of religious or social obligation, but just because she feels underdressed and uncomfortable.
BTW to others on the thread-
To stereotype all Muslim women as slaves and all Muslim men as murderous abusers is no more accurate than stereotyping all Christians as witch-burning, gay bashing abortion clinic bombers. And it does not reflect well on the person making those statements.
Ladies, which would rather be: the wife of a secular Muslim who came to America to get away from all that Jihad nonsense, or the wife of a bible-thumping, hellfire-and-brimstone fundamentalist Christian preacher?
I can assure you, the preacher.
