Granted I haven't listened to every second of the hearings, but I don't think Kelo has been mentioned even once. And that astounds me!

That doesn't astound me one freaking bit. But it torques me off. And it ought to tell everyone just how John Q. Public rates with the House of Lords...er, the Senate.

Could they be tippy-toeing around Kelo because it is so recent and Souter is out there and might be embarrassed? If so, it is not a good reason.

Kelo is a decision that very, very few politicians will dislike. There is a lot of $$$$$$ in real estate development for local and state politicians -- and if a few houses have to get bulldozed to get the development done and the bucks paid into re-election campaigns, then that's what has to be done. Nobody on either side of the Committee table is going to bring that issue up -- they're all in bed on this one.
