Dems line of questioning.
I think the big news here is that Russ Feingold (after the Mrs. Alito crying incident) stated flat out that he would be voting for Judge Alito both in the committee and on the floor. That's big. Put the rest of his Dem committee members in a bad position, after Feingold praised Alito and said he'd vote for him. Hah. Feingold, I think, did it for one and possibly two reasons. First, he wants to run for President. Second, I think he actually may have a few feelings and responded to Mrs. Alito's being upset. I may be giving him way too much credit for that last point, but he could have reacted to her crying about the Dems smearing her husband's integrity. Makes the Dems look bad, and Feingold doesn't want to be lumped in with the rest of them. Feingold knows the power of visuals, and that most of Middle America will be on Alito and his wife's side, not the Dems.
