Most people take the Drudge report as Mrs. Alito breaking down during DEM questioning. The FR threads spontaneous reactions are of that nature. If you didn't see it first hand, the impression is that she's weak. Fact is, she's not.
Agreed it was not the mean spirited comments that got to her. It never is, it is when someone says something kind and thoughful that get you misty eyed.
