Specter now talking about Teddy's letter. Says K's letter never logged in--and just saw computer printout of it an hour ago. Decided letter is not meritorious--hurray! Says he honestly did not know about the letter--talks with Kennedy and Leahy a lot--now talking about 11/26 NY Times article--says no indication that judge Alito was an active member of CAP--guess maybe they will now review the records--sounds like Specter might put them into record--but doesn't seem to feel they are very important.

Thanks a million for this, Millagro. I was watching the Alito confirmation hearings on C-SPAN, but had to do something else when this whole process was going on. Yet again, these LIVE FR threads demonstrate their indispensability!
