I saw 47* for you, maybe they are a tad high?
MSN/Weather Channel has 44°F high on my WebTV email homepage
It really depends where that have the gauges
The Coast Guard helicopter field on Long Island Sound would have lots of heat absorbing pavement and most likely would read higher than the average temperature
But the gauges on top of City Hall would read cooler as they are up in cooler winds even though it is among many large buildings and roads and sidewalks
That is why the so-called "Global-Warming" with predictions 10 - 20 - 30 years in the future and baloney "studies" that the earth's temperature rose .7 of 1¼ in the last 100 years - from unreliable sources and in 1907 when few knew or cared how to accurately monitor and record temperatures at all
Your gauge reads 47°F and the Weather Channel says a high of 44°F
A 3°F difference at exactly the same time in the same city
