"You can get any office supplies at Wal-Mart or Target, and for cheaper."

Well....actually, you can get some office supplies at those stores. For most small businesses, though, Walmart and Target don't cut it. The market is over-saturated, though, with these stores. It will be good to thin the ranks a bit, although I'll miss the Office Max near me, and I expect it'll get killed. I prefer Staples, but there isn't a close one here.

The only Office Max in my town is less than half a mile from an Office Depot on the same freeway frontage road. I'm always amazed it stays in business considering how few customers I see inside compared to the Office Depot. Office Depot also has another location that is closer to downtown.

I agree, while Wal-Mart and Target do offer some office supplies, they do not carry most of what I need.
However, within 5 miles of my home there is not only a Wal-Mart and Target, but a Sam's Club, a Costco, an Office-Max, an Office Depot and a Staples. Talk about your over-saturated markets.

There are only 5 Office Maxes in the Houston metro area. That's about one store per million residents. Hope they don't close here.

My company uses OM, which was recently purchased by Boise Office Products, a division of Boise-Cascade. Must be their consultants that are pushing this through.

These stores are great for businesses because they deliver and you can order today and get it tomorrow, if not today.
