Saw this at Andrew Sullivan's web site (ha ha, spare the obvious jokes) and have seen many discussions about this movie. I'm not surprised it's doing so well in Boston but I did not think it was going to open in Lubbock or Tulsa.

I went for a colonoscopy yesterday. As I was going under (the anesthesia), I cracked a few Brokeback Mountain jokes.

I don't think the nurses appreciated it.

I don't know about the doctor. I couldn't see his face, as he was behind me.

Ledger in the Sydney Herald recently:

"Ledger said he was not surprised a Utah cinema had banned Brokeback Mountain, which depicts a lifelong love affair between two Montana cowboys.

"I heard a while ago that West Virginia was going to ban it. But that's a state that was lynching people only 25 years ago, so that's to be expected," Ledger said.

"Personally, I don't think the movie is (controversial) but I think maybe the Mormons in Utah do. I think it's hilarious and very immature of a society"

A TOTAL take of $22 million is supposed to be a success??? The rules really do change for things gay.

To hell with this movie.

Thankfully they're largely preaching to the converted.
