I'd like a dentist to confirm, but I believe if the root is completely dead, the procedure can be performed without anesthesia. It can. I was horrified when my dentist suggested it, but there was no pain, just the noise of the drill.

they kept telling me that and I kept telling them it hurt like hell........when I jumped in the chair in pain for the second time he believed me.
