The first five words of my screen name comprise a recurring phrase used by the protagonist of that novel.

The author is related to Franklin Foer, a writer for The New Republic.

He's an obnoxious liberal who lives in Park Slope, but he did manage to write one pretty good work of fiction, IMO.
