So would Alito give us a conservative majority of 5-4 on the SCOTUS, or is it still 5-4 with a liberal majority?

We'd have a 5-4 on cases were O'Connor went to the darkside and a 4-5 on cases where Anthony Kennedy is on the dark side.

Bottomline it would be a 4.5-4.5 Court. Maybe a 4.6-4.4 advantage us.

But Roberts is a stronger scholar than Anthony Kennedy. Watch Roberts sway Kennedy in future cases -- I like what I am seeing so far.

Thanks,
That is what I thought. I think we need to hope for at least one more Bush nomination in his second term. I don't want to be caught (pray to God it never happens) with a Democrat picking the next one in 2009.

"Maybe a 4.6-4.4 advantage us."

Hopefully, Roberts and Alito may be able to convince Kennedy to come down on our side often enough make it 4.7 or 4.8 us.
