I could go with both scenarios, the one as I described above as win win win, or Olmert rolling over and allowing the vote in Jerusalem.

Maybe, I don't know. The PLO pretended to accept Israel's right to exist. Hammas's platform is simple---complete control of Israel by the Palestinians. I don't think Hammas's platform will change I'm not sure the Europeans will embrace Hammas.
