How about a scene where Teddy tells Mary Jo, "You wait here while I go see if any other people in America might be having their civil rights abused by my reporting to the authorities that you are trapped in here and in imminent danger of drowning. My chances of a presidential run have nothing to do with it." Too bad we couldn't see this Senator through the eyes of Mary Jo, but that's hard to do when you're dead.
