I've never really understood the argument against allowing a man to have more than one wife. You can say it's inefficient and that we don't have enough women for every man to do it but you could say that same thing about yachts and yet we don't ban them.

polygomy is different that bigamy, to my mind- it despicable to trick someone into marriage by concealing a previous marriage but that is different than two women voluntarily marrying the same man.

You don't see anything wrong with a society in which high-status men accumulate wives and sire children who barely know their fathers, while lower-status men are good only for cannon fodder?
