Last time we had gasoline rationing I was picking owners of those kinds of things up on my motorcycle (they were thumbing). This time, they can walk, or somebody else can pick em up. This time, there's no excuse.

Sure, gas is expensive, but you're picking bugs out of your teeth, moto-man.
Don't let the rain get on your head.

When Shelby was born, they broke the mold. The 1963-4 AC Cobra 289 FIA was a gem. My eldest brother wanted one. Then when the GT350 came out, no one had a clue what a great car it was.

Funny. My reaction was to buy the cars. Worked great for me.
I'm still sorry about the 71 Buick Riviera 455 I missed. That would be worth having in your garage just for the eyes popping when you drive it.
It's my money, and if I want to turn it into pollution and noise, I'm damned well going to.
I wonder if this writer is any relation to Dick "Turban" Durbin, the politician who thinks us soldiers are Nazis or something.

If Ford wanted to make a comeback with glory they should reissue the Mustang series.
Redo the engine for efficiency and start with the 1964 Mustang convertible.
I would stand in line for a week to buy one.

The Challenger has the same lines that my `70 Barracuda did. I loved that car.

Yeh, I just made my own. 97 Ram SS/T with a 408 stroker motor. 10:1 compression, R/T heads with wild cam, no smog control, 3.92 gears and 2400 stall, 11 mpg(on premium), over 400 hp, no worries!
Good thing I have the ZRX1100 to drive. I figure its 42+ mpg off sets the horrible truck gas milage. Hot rods rule and even though the fuel is expensive, its still not worth me looking like a fruit in an electric car over.

NOBODY is going to own the Ford Shelby GT500, I have been informed. One per dealer will be available, and ONLY at the biggest dealers. It will likely go for up to $20K more than the otherwise affordable $39K they've been bragging about.

Let's just hope don't square it up and make it a four-door like they did with the new 300 and Charger.

Shoot, just re-do the 89 mustang exactly how it was. I would buy one in a heartbeat. They would sell them so fast, they couldnt keep them on the lot, I promise. I like the old ones too, but nothing beats the fox bodies. I have a '91 that is fun. I need another 85 with its quasi futuristic 4-headlight having looks.

"The Challenger has the same lines that my `70 Barracuda did." Concept only... I fear, from history, that it will look like any old box or family-mobile, or just completely stupid by the time they start building it.
I can't understand why they don't take the coolest cars of the past, and make virtual replicas out of them (with modernized parts and safety, of course).
It seems almost out of spite that they keep boring us to death every year, and believe that the right marketing will compensate for a crappy car. I'm mainly talking AMERICAN cars of course...
