Computer chips get under skin of U.S. enthusiasts

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Forgetting computer passwords is an everyday source of frustration, but a solution may literally be at hand -- in the form of computer chip implants.

With a wave of his hand, Amal Graafstra, a 29-year-old entrepreneur based in Vancouver, Canada, opens his front door. With another, he logs onto his computer.

Tiny radio frequency identification (RFID) computer chips inserted into Graafstra's hands make it all possible.

"I just don't want to be without access to the things that I need to get access to. In the worst case scenario, if I'm in the alley naked, I want to still be able to get in (my house)," Graafstra said in an interview in New York, where he is promoting the technology. "RFID is for me."

Sounds cool, but I'd put it in my left hand. I use my right hand for stuff, and I don't want it getting messed up.

When I start to show signs of senility I may think about it – like if I ever find myself “…in the alley naked…” – but until than I’ll hold off. I don’t own much, but I don’t like the idea of someone stealing my identify by just whacking off my hand.

I think the military was considering something like this so they could locate people who were captured, lost, whatever on the battlefield. But then they thought about if the enemy knows a chip is implanted in a soldier's body somewhere, the whacking begins . . .

So now thieves will chop off your hand so they can take it to the ATM and clean out your account.

Not me. My body gets banged up at unpredictable times. I will not damage it farther than normalcy for me.

You said -- "Mark of the beast?"

Nope..., that involves "WORSHIP" -- and there's no worship involved here.

Read up on the "mark" and see exactly what the criteria is. Technology is not the "Mark of the Beast". Technology only facilitates what we want to do (or what the Antichrist may want to do).

I'm on so many systems, I actually had to create a spreadsheet. The IT password-nazis think they're running the NSA and CIA systems. One exception: when on an IBM project for IBM's Direct Response PC division in RTP, NC; I was the system administrator (a pain in the ass part time assignment) and streamlined their entire security protocol. I received hundreds of PROFS Notes (internal IBM mainfram e-mail) thanking me.

Yep... Don't you just hate when that happens?

Yup. Next thing the Feds will demand you have one in order to get a bank account or a job, just like your social security number now.

Close.

If it is high tide, leap year and a full moon, add the cube of pie and then take the square of your age and divide by the integral on page 147 of you high school calculus book.

Now if you work in HR, we have different matrix for you folks...

Another monkey playing with high-tech...

How about being alley naked and handless?
Is that an improvement? I hate to break the news to you, but human predators abound who would not think twice of removing you hand for your car, or the potential treasures in your house...
