I found this article while searching online for something else and didn't find it posted. It appeared to be newsworthy for posting on FR. I find it most interesting how the most liberal nation in Europe is the only one that seems to "get it".
It's only ONE Dutch politician. If they actually do something, then I'll be impressed.
This is one guy, not a nation. Let's see if he is going to be just a voice in the wilderness, or able to move the Dutch people. The latter might just be possible, though. That famous Dutch tolerance - I think a lot of that is more pragmatism than tolerance or especially liberalism. They have traditionally worked out novel solutions to their social problems but adopted them not so much out of a philosophical bent, but because they worked. Holland is not a particularly liberal or leftist country.
That's my impression from my Dutch friends.
