If DeLay did "nothing wrong," then he was remiss to give up the leadership without a real fight. He would have had to give it up on Feb. 1 anyway, wouldn't he, had not the Earle charges been resolved? The message is always the same, it seems: The GOP is too cowardly to fight.
And the dims know it.
Quoting a very cheezy Kenny Rogers song, "You got to know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em." Reality is what it is. Every member of the House has an election in 10 months, and the GOP caucus has to get this out of the way now.
If RATS get control of the House, it is going to get very ugly. For instance, John Conyers will be the Judiciary Committee chairman. Impeachment hearings would begin within ten minutes of that and the press would be handed a parade of lies against the President and the GOP.
