He would have to make a deal with the moderates.He is about 40 votes short.I have always said it would be easier for Pence to win the 08 nomination that Speaker or Majority Leader.There is a Draft among the RSC to get Pence in the race.

He feels Delay is not a good majority Leader and that Delay has constantly sold out the conservative movement for Politics as usual.Abramoff's rise to power is largely attributed to Delay.Republican does not equal conservative.

That's what this whole witch hunt was about. To get rid of DeLay and yet again, the snakes have slithered out their way. Yep, the Rats got what they wanted. Any minute now the charges against DeLay will quietly be dismissed or settled and you won't hear a peep about it in the news.

The people who forced out Delay never thought he was a good majority leader in the first place.Flake and some of the others have felt like Delay was a big government Republican who only cares about politics as usual.
