I don't know Tom Rose's claim to fame, except that he's been on Imus. Jerusalem Post reporter? NYTimes reporter?
Tom Rose is reminding Imus and me, that when Hezzbolah entered Israel and took 2 soldiers as hostages, they killed 8 Israli soldiers. I don't think I knew that, but I do agree with Imus, the 8 killed isn't often mentioned.
Those are amazing numbers. I just wonder what the # of homes each of the three 24/7 cable channels are in? CNN obviously has no excuse but MSNBC? My brother in Maumee/Toledo just recently had MSNBC added to his system. I like MSNBC and probably root for them because they are the underdog.
The one thing I just don't understand is O'Reilly. It must be me but the guy is a pompous pr***. Can't argue with success, though.
IIRC Rose got caught up in a financial scandal involving the JP a couple of years ago.
thanks for the info...I found what I needed to know by googling "Jerusalem Post, Tom Rose". just googling "Tom Rose" and all I got was "Charlie Rose"
6:29am - Tom Rose,
7:29am - Sen. John McCain,
8:29am - Frank Rich
Tom Rose has been Imus's go to guy in the past on the topic of Israeli current events. I've always enjoyed his reporting. He use to live in Jerusalem when he had a position at the Jerusalem Post. Now that he no longer does he's back in the U.S. with a radio show out of Washington D.C.
Rose has always been kind of a hawk on military and political matters, but he's not afraid to criticize the Israeli Govt when it deserves it. Today he criticized their intelligence agencies for not knowing "those Jew hating bastards" Hezbollah had silk worm missiles.
Rose also thought Kofi Annan made a big mistake when he accused the Israeli's of deliberately killing those U.N. Peace keepers yesterday.
McCain tells Imus, "no one believes Israel would intentionally target the UN". and he shames Kofi Anan for saying such a thing. "Of course Iran is behind Hezz attacking Israel", he says. Very strong for Israel.
McCain heard Matthews yesterday, said, "I agree, he needs a vacation."
NBC's David Gregory is on, now why?....for comic relief??
And I think Imus is trying to up Matthews numbers by continually mentioning his name. I love this one! Imus tells Gregory, "if Chris Matthews and Hardball disappear forever, it won't make any difference. Matthews thinks if he's not here to tell people what's going on, they won't know." LOL at how true that is. But... If Imus were really trying to diss Matthews, he would mention Hardball's ratings compared to FOXNews and even CNN.
Cracks me up when Imus asks The New York Times'Frank Rich why Bush can't broker a peace like Clinton did. or like Carter did. Good grief, doesn't Imus catch the humor in asking such a dumb question??? If Clinton or Carter, or anyone else for that matter, had brokered a successful peace, Israel and Hezzbolah wouldn't be fighting right now.
LOL! It's been raining all night and it's raining now...The guys have just arrived to set the forms, and we're afraid they'll run away if it rains any harder!
At this rate, the concrete won't be poured til next week! All we've got around the pool right now is the gravel bed! Please wish us some sunshine for the rest of the week. (in Yorkville, IL)
That's like calling those people killed yesterday as U.N. Peace Keepers. I don't know where the peace is they are keeping.
Me thinks he dines a little too much with Kerry.
Caught the tale end of the interview and from your comments above, I'm grateful.
anyone ANYONE not one. Dang Detroit Public Skool Typing skills!!!!
THURSDAY
Fox & Friends tells viewers one of the UN observor soldiers killed by Israeli weapons, was a Canadian. Before he died, this Canadian emailed his former commanding officer and told him the UN position was under fire, but only because Hezzbos were using their position for cover, and the Hezzbos were within 10 feet of the UN Command Post.

We've received e-mails from him a few days ago and he described the fact that he was taking within - in one case - three meters of his position "for tactical necessity - not being targeted". Now that's veiled speech in the military and what he was telling us was Hizbullah fighters were all over his position and the IDF were (sic) targeting... |
Judge Napolitano said is was a war crime for Hizbullah to them as shields and the Israeli's would be justified if they took this action on purpose.
I started wondering this also.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Israels deadly attack on a UN observation post in Lebanon, which claimed the life of a Canadian soldier, was a terrible tragedy and he doubts whether the bombing was deliberate. Harper, speaking to reporters after a funding announcement in eastern New Brunswick, said the Canadian military would consult with the UN and the Israeli government to find out what happened. The prime minister also said he wants to know why the post was still manned even though it was in the middle of an obvious war zone. Three other peacekeepers ... |
Were they under orders to stay there even though it was idiotic to do so?
Good morning, McGruff. I have a crick in my neck from watching for lp's plane yesterday. He promised to wave as he passed over the Arch and I wanted to be sure to wave back.
I'm waiting for Buchanan to come on, guessing it will be the looney call of the day.
5pm est, Ann Coulter coming up on Hardball. He's sitting outside with a silly looking, wildly cheering audience. Not sure where he is.
