British Immigration Agency Trades Visas For Sex

Accusations that workers at one of Great Britain’s largest immigration centers in southern London have been granting visas to attractive foreigners in exchange for sex have prompted an investigation according Reuters.

Anthony Pamnani, a former employee of the center, blew the whistle to the British Sun tabloid last week.

“One girl came in and told us an administrative officer had visited her flat and they slept together,” Pamnani said, “She got indefinite leave to stay.”

He also claimed that Brazilian women were favored most of all, and were allowed to stay twice as long as their male counterparts. Unattractive women of nationalities received the opposite treatment.

“Officers use to say about ugly girls: ‘She's bloody disgusting ‑‑ let's send her back anyway,’” he said.

The former employee also accused the center of negligence, saying that in “many cases” passports were not even checked to ensure immigrants had no previous convictions and were not wanted abroad. “It was lazy because they only had to walk a few yards and swipe it through a computer reader.”

Pamnani quit his job when his complaints were ignored and the staff at the center was given orders to admit more immigrants from eastern Europe at the expense of those from India. “I lost what remaining respect I had for the job” at that point, he said.

The British Home Office minister Tony McNulty remains optimistic in spite of the investigation, however. “I have every confidence that staff within the Immigration and Nationality Directorate carry out their roles with professionalism and integrity,” he said.

McNulty also re-affirmed his faith in the complaint department despite Mr. Pamnani’s accusations. “There are clearly established systems for staff to raise any concerns that they may have with working practices within their team and to take the issue further if they feel it is necessary.”

A major subtheme accompanying many news items these days seems to be not what depths of bad behavior people will sink to, but for what petty price.

England has among the most beautiful women on the planet: and they have that gorgeous accent.

It is British men who have problems, like the ones in the visa bureau. Some of them have been acting like real bounders, I say -- like regular cads!
