"Absolutely no teacher in K-12 should ever under any circumstance be allowed to have sex with a student. Period. I don't care if you have a 19 year old on his third try at senior year. Teachers are in a position of authority and like any other workplace, authority is too easily abused and should be prohibited."
Agree. I just see no point in putting her in jail - fire her and ban her from teaching.

I would guess that she gets charged with all of it...he's a minor.
She's a friendly one, though, isn't she?

Agreed. During my entire student career I was only aware of three teachers sleeping with students... the one male teacher was caught and fired (and now manages a shoe store) but the two women, one straight, one lesbian -well nobody even thoguht of turning them in.

Can someone explain to me when a minor is having sex with a minor the verbiage is "they're going to do it anyway", "sexual empowerment", "you can't stop them" and "they need to know about real life", etc. etc.
But when same minor has intercourse with someone much older the verbiage is "molestation", "minors can't make decisions like that", "children shouldn't be having sex", etc. etc.?

When I was in the sixth grade, I had to go to summer school for Math. My teacher was this drop-dead beautiful young thing (even to a sixth grader) and I had an unbelievable crush on her. I don't remember minding going to summer school. I heard every sailor on the base was after her, and she ended up marrying one...gosh, my little sixth grade heart definitely went pitter-patter. No wonder I never got the hang of math.
