I must say I'm a fan of Australia and Japan. Good to see we're continuing our strong strategic and economic relationships with the two countries.
As for China; Pah! Who needs 'em? Okay, they import 90% of the things you see on store shelves, but that's a topic for another time.

Storm clouds on the horizon. Time to prepare.

Could it be the three countries that are meeting are worried that China is the greatest threat the their security militarily? I would think so....

What is that statistic that's frequently kicked around? I believe it's that China's military spending has greatly increased each year for the past 12 years. I may have gotten that wrong, but I think that's it.
An official in the Japanese government recently pushed China's buttons when he mentioned the above statistic, and said China is beginning to become a threat to regional security.

Unfortunately, Australia will act as China's surrogate in these discussions.

By the way, I have a question to anybody more knowledgeable about these kinds of things.
If China were to go to war with Japan, the US be obligated to defend them, right? We do have a number of US bases in Japan, and I'd like to know just what the troops on those bases would do in the event of war between the two nations.

You're right. They are building up for war. Using our money and other countries that run a deficit with it to eventually attack us.

Yeah, Bubba was definitely one of our greatest presidents!
Not only was he a rapist, a liar and an all-around shlub, he also sold classified military information to the communists! Wow. What a guy.
But I digress.

The Chinese are probably banking that the American people are tired of war after being in Iraq and won't stand up to a blitzkrieg strike on Taiwan.

Just why would China expect to be invited to a conference that is about protecting the region from China?

China would be ok if they got rid of the communist one party rule and didnt threaten Japan and Taiwan and threaten to nuke the US. Thats alot of change that needs to happen.

You're not familiar with Han Chinese, are you?

I am I been to china and they are the most racist, boorish, and downright rude people I have ever met. They believe the are the middle kingdom ment to rule the world and we are barbarians. Well they have a very rude awakening awaiting them if they become aggressive to the US or our allies.
To: Termite_Commander
Usually the target state is not invited to the meeting on how to defend against them.
