Last thing we need to do is sales taxes, it's the absolute last thing we need to do. Sales taxes are bad enough as it is, and yet the idiots in one of our suburbs (who already have an 8.5% sales tax) are contemplating breaking off and forming their own school system, where they'd have an even higher sales tax.

The solution to education is the get what you pay for solution, make it all private, there will be varying levels of education, and for students who really are disadvantaged but who could cut it in the better schools, have some sort of scholarship fund set up. I know that alot of our private schools around here have scholarships, and they ain't all for football.

Yeah, I said there were drawbacks. Schools are overrated IMO though. It has only been in the last century that we started all this. Does that mean people before weren't able to be productive citizens? If a disaster happened, and schools shut down, would our kids still learn to read and write? It's dedicated parents and not where the learning takes place that is important.
