I dont get your post; I think vouchers should stay as a "refund" for people who pay public school taxes and want the option to send their kids to private school. How is that "govt involvement"??? Heck, its the public schools they run; at least going to private school or homeschool, you get to choose. CD is against vouchers. Getting vouchers does not mean you have to send your child where the govt says. And the govt does not come into the private school and teach things you might like in public school, such as evolution, parenting skills at age 14, etc.

Florida vouchers were given because the schools were so lousy.

That was my point about the ACLU. I am undecided about this verdict since the ACLU is sided against the vouchers. This may be why I confused you. I think they might be against vouchers because it would be MORE DIFFICULT for the govt/left groups to control private education if the vouchers are issued. Also, public school money is based on attendance, correct? More students leaving means less money for public schools. IMO these are the primary issues of the ACLU and NEA fighting vouchers. The ACLU and NEA control the US Dept of Ed...and state teacher unions control the state Depts of Ed. That being said, IMO if vouchers were passed, it would not take long before the govt/and/or left organizations WOULD make every attempt to mandate and control private education similar to public education when so many would bail from public schools. I just believe for my family, I want a school that does not present a left twist to my children. ACLU and NEA=left. Which currently means Public education. Making any more sense? If my paragraphs do not show on this post, sorry. They do appear when I type, but not when I post. Anyone have any suggestions?
