I thought the left didn't like religious leaders making political stands?that's only if if affects their monetary take and IRS scrutiny. of course, if it's a left wingnut cause, it deserves no scrutiny from them or the 'separation of church and state' fruits and nuts.

Sadly they are hold outs of the "Liberation Theology" movement that got taught at seminaries in the late 70's early 80's till John Paul II cracked down when it was realized that it was marxism wrapped in a cloak of Roman Catholic theology.
