Immaculate
When a Republican comes along handing out winning lotto tickets
Slim.
Lynn Swann is an icon to steeler fans, and even black steeler fans who are democrats are not going to want him getting trashed with racial rhetoric.
His involvement with the inner city programs and his good works with many african americans make the "uncle tom" card offensive to the very people who will still vote against him because he is a republican.
Tick them off, and they'll just stay home.
As a rookie, Swann led the NFL in punt returns with 577 yards on 41 returns, which at that time was a club record and fourth best in NFL history. He did see limited action as a wide receiver, particularly in late season, and his touchdown catch in the AFC championship game against the Oakland Raiders proved to be a game-winner and set the stage for things to come.
Blessed with gazelle-like speed, fluid movements and a tremendous leaping ability, Swann became a regular at wide receiver in his second year. Immediately he demonstrated that he was a complete player with phenomenal natural abilities.
That season, he recorded 49 catches for 781 yards and a league-high 11 touchdowns and then finished off the season with a flourish by winning Most Valuable Player honors in the Steelers 21-17 Super Bowl X victory over the Dallas Cowboys. For his part, Swann contributed four receptions for a then-Super Bowl record 161 yards. Included was a spectacular 64-yard catch and run that produced the winning touchdown.
Born in Alcoa, Tennessee, on March 7, 1952, Lynn played nine seasons with the Steelers. His lifetime chart showed 336 receptions for 5,462 yards and 51 touchdowns. His combined total of 364 receiving yards in four games ranked first in Super Bowl history at the time of his retirement.
Named All-Pro in 1975, 1977, and 1978, Swann was also voted to the Pro Bowl after each of those seasons. One of the most exciting players of his time, Swann was named to the NFLs All-Decade Team of the 1970s, and to the Super Bowl Silver Anniversary Team.
Thanks for the Ping
Say Good Bye to Fast Eddie :0)
At least Swannie will be able to catch the oreos.
Remember - black Republicans CANNOT succeed; it kills the Democrat party. Be prepared to have Chuck Schumer check out your credit rating as well.

Oh, yes, the frothing libs will do everything they can to keep him from winning. Why, the very idea, of a black, sucsessful person becoming governor, why, that is contrary to everthing we have stood for. The suppressed black victim, the racially deprived, the victims, the decendants of slaves...(chuckle -- I hope he wins!)
Good luck to him. If he can concentrate on being governor like he was able to concentrate on catching footballs, he will be a very good governor.
The reason I bring this up is my area has had a rash of black on black shootings in recent months. Every night there is a mother or grandmother on the news crying. There has got to be a way to get these folks thinking out of that box, and showing them another way.
LOL! Exactly! Wouldn't it be wonderful if Swann could help paint PA red? This race will be one to watch.
They were alluding to this during the ending of the WVU/Georgia game and the two announcers said they would be behind Swann all the way. Hope they live in PA!
Good deal!!
Fast Eddie is going to need 250% voting in all the districts of Philly to pull this one out.
I have written a check as well. If he gets the endorsement in Feb. we will write some more. I believe this is the right man at the right time in PA.
Actually, that was Franco Harris....
Born in the USA
Not in Austria
Hmmmmmmmmm.....

Best of luck to you ----- as you could...go....all....the....way!!!
His parents were Democrats and he will be the first black to ever run for Governor in PA. I'm proud to say he is a Republican. That said, he stands an even chance of winning.
